Each Kayo device comes with a long black insert called the permanent key that can be removed to lock the device in place on the OBD port. This can be useful in those situations where someone other than the vehicle owner will be driving the car and you wish the device to stay in place.
The permanent key can be reinserted at any time to allow you to remove the Kayo device.
We also included a temporary brass key with each Kayo device that is easier to attach to a keychain and can be used to temporarily unlock a Kayo device for removal:
